As the Employment Rights Bill makes its way through Parliament we strongly advise employers to prepare for the most radical of the changes: the removal of the 2 year continuous employment eligibility criteria to claim unfair dismissal.
A key part of this preparation will be tightening up on probationary periods and managing those who do not meet performance levels – at a very early stage so that such dismissals will come within the probationary period exemption.
This training is intended to prepare HR and Line Management to:
- Manage and monitor probationary periods successfully;
- Design and manage fair performance criteria; and
- Understand the difference between capability and conduct; and
- Spot complicating factors such as discrimination.
