We are open and committed to continuing to providing employment law advice and assistance at this most challenging of times.   • Key Changes in April 2011

      Three key changes are due to take place in April:

      • The default retirement age will be phased on from 6 April 2011
      • the right to request flexible working will be extended to parents of children under 18. However, in The Telepgraph today it was reported that Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills and President of the Board of Trade, has stated that this proposed extension will be abolished see:

      • the positive action in recruitment and promotion provisions in Section 159 of tehe Equality Act 2010 will come into force.
